Digital Services 2015 – The VAT Changes

11.11.2014

Fundamental changes to the VAT accounting treatment for suppliers of Digital Services (broadcasting, telecommunications and wider e-services) will come into effect from the 1 January 2015 and will impact on UK suppliers making such business to consumer supplies…effectively supplying such services to private individuals or non VAT registered entities.

Digital services is quite a general term but any UK business supplying video on demand, downloaded applications, music downloads, e books of any type, anti-virus software or gaming services will be affected as will on line auction services.

Centurion VAT have a number of VAT Updates planned for the autumn to help businesses prepare and plan for the required changes and you can find the dates and venues for these through our events page on:https://www.centurionvat.com/events/

To give the latest information from HMRC on the area attached is a link to the video on HMRC’s website of their Digital Services 2015 London seminar from June of this year.
