Centurion welcomes Drew Shrimpton to the VAT Team

Centurion VAT are delighted to welcome Drew Shrimpton as an Associate Director to its growing Indirect Tax Team.
Centurion VAT began in 1998 with the aim to deliver an expert VAT advice and support service to the Education sector across Wales. Such was their success that, over the decades, the team grew its client base across all sectors - public, charity and corporate and across the UK. The team supports clients from High Street names in the Travel Sector, Property developers to Charities, Housing Associations, Universities and Colleges.
Centurion VAT is now the Indirect Tax specialist team within the Xeinadin Business Advisory Group – a top 20 Accountancy firm.
“It’s great to welcome Drew to the expert VAT team we continue to build here,” said Liz Maher – Director at Centurion VAT. “Our client base continues to expand across the UK as we support our clients as well as supporting those from across the Xeinadin network which includes Ireland.
“We are seeing strong areas of growth not just in our specialist sectors of Education – Universities and Colleges and Housing Associations but also across the Travel Industry and Property sector. Drew’s arrival is key to this continued future growth and to maintaining the excellent reputation that we’ve achieved for our professional, expert and approachable VAT services.”
Drew joined the Xeinadin Indirect Tax Team, Centurion VAT, after an exciting career in both Industry and consultancy VAT roles. At Grant Thornton UK LLP, where he spent eleven years, Drew was enticed to Wales with the task of creating a new VAT compliance centre in Cardiff.
“I enjoyed the compliance role but wanted to get back to supporting clients on a wider range of VAT areas that life in consultancy brings”, said Drew, “It’s great to have the opportunity to join Centurion at this exciting time, developing the VAT support offering for Xeinadin across the UK and Ireland. I am very much looking forward to working with the Centurion VAT team and getting to know my colleagues in the wider Xeinadin group.”
Drew has a range of hobbies which include DIY on his new home but also loves looking after bees and has a great range of cooking skills which the team here at Centurion are looking forward to sampling.
