Centurion’s VAT Forums for Universities, Colleges and Housing Associations

The month of June is always a busy one as we run our Annual VAT Forums for clients in these specific sectors. Having now completed this year’s run of events, it’s great to reflect on the energy and engagement at each of these Forums whether run here in Wales or in the South West.
Clearly the roll out of Making VAT Digital was a key area of the discussions at each event whether we had our University, FE College or Housing Association clients and contacts around the table. A real added value of these Forums is the knowledge share that goes on around the group themselves. Many share the same accounting system packages so chat about issues and fixes proved invaluable.
We were delighted with the feedback from a client, new to their sector relevant Forum, who was happy to acknowledge the value they had got from their Forum attendance – just wished they’d been coming for years.
At our Forums for Universities and the one for the Further Education Sector there was an outline, kindly delivered by Caroline O’Flaherty from Hugh James, on the planned Mutual Investment Model (MIMs) which Welsh Government are currently working up as a mechanism for major infrastructure projects. Caroline will be providing an update for circulation once the Private Sector Partnership offering has been clarified which hopefully will be mid-July but if you do need a conversation with Caroline on this new development do contact her at Hugh James in Cardiff on 033 3016 2222.
