Making VAT Digital – An update on what we are seeing

HMRC have said they accept that emailing a file may constitute a digital link after all. This is a slight change from their previous guidance but has been confirmed in the latest Public Notice 700/22 issued on the 3^rd May 2019.

We have had several clients express some difficulties that they are encountering when using or trialling the new MVD system to submit VAT returns, particularly those whose ERP system is supported by one of the larger software providers. Given that MVD is new to all qualifying businesses, it is understandable that some clients may experience teething problems, so we are here to help and can correspond directly with your ERP provider to ask the necessary questions and try to resolve any MVD queries that you may have.
